SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER Network opperations

Managed daily telecommunications infrastructure upgrades, moves and Changes, maintenance operations.

Project managed the infrastructure consolidation of Boeing Long Beach aircraft production facilities.. Primary focus was on designed and implementation of the relocation of 20,000 operation and production personnel’s telecommunications network. The detailed activities included Cat5e wiring, fiber Optic cable networks, equipment Room layout, Cisco Switches and Routers, equipment rack configuration for over a 15,000 port data network and a 20kline telephone system. Responsibilities included scheduling, budgets and managing vendor’s installation of copper and fiber optic cable plus Cat5e through Cat7e wiring and Fiber to the desk top. Constructed over 42000 feet of outside cable plant was redirected resulting in all 60 new Manholes, over 63 mile of conduit. This operation entailed the migration over 32k working circuits while not interrupting or delaying business operations. The primary objective of this consolidation activity was for the demolition of 70 building on 242 acres. These projects enabled the consolidation and relocation of over 12000 employees. All designs are in according to TIA, BICSI, RCDD, RUS, or, BELLCORE standards.

Senior OSP/ISP Project

Managed projects around existing systems and data architecture. Co-coordinated and controlled the removal of underground Toll copper cables.  Completed all records changes in ARES, LFAC, For multiple million-dollar projects simultaneously. These will be capital projects involved in updating and consolidating functionality in various systems related to provider demographics. Provide local on-site program management for contracted vendors. Heavily involved with setting up recurring status meetings with the business stakeholders, fielding questions from the business, as well as handling issues that arise from the business. Operated out of a home virtual office

Attain team building and eliminated inter-team conflicts in the developed of project plans for the safe and profitable recovery of retired Trunk cables. Anticipating issues and acting proactively to address potential issues. Manage conference teleconference and or net meeting calls with client team members and vendors. Successfully eliminating any risk to the existing network integrity.  Gathered and updated project materials, completing budgeting, forecasting, project documentation, business flows, and lessons learned documents. Monitor Switch Centers cable validation processes. Organize and direct inner office cable recovery operations. Coordinate Central Office activity, Coordinated and managed Inter Office design and provisioning process. Communicate project status reports to the executive deployment Leadership team including risk assessments and mitigation plans. Speaking to details of the project to both the business and technical teams from beginning to end of all projects. Provided risk management and issue/problem resolution as required. Oversee prepping and extracting operations. Perform Safety. Audit copper recovery records. Coordinate activities with Verizon on boundaries removals and with 3rd party activities. Successfully extracting $3.2 million dollars in Trunk Cables twelve months ahead of schedule.

Designed and implemented underground and building fiber optic cable plant from Desk Top to Server Farm in support of Navy and Marine Croup Intranet. Design disaster prevention and recovery plans for all telephone, data equipment infrastructure and date software. Planned OSP cable disaster back up routes. Including the raised floor, equipment rack and cable structural integrity a 15K Data / NOC to with stand a class 5 earthquake. Designed LAN and WAN transmission facilities to be redundant. 

Effectively managed the design for the consolidation of Boeing’s telephone and data networks from 95 buildings to 15 building. This required placing Twenty thousand cat 5-and6e voice and data drops. Placing 42000 feet of OSP cable prepared project schedules, Developed and administered annual budgets Prepared RFP and RFQ for bids on all ISP/OSP requirements. Evaluated bid responses. Managed and coordinated vendor’s implementation. 

Though knowledge of building codes, and safety standards. Carries out risk analysis and developed risk mitigation strategies. Planned, coordinated and implemented the relocation the Long Beach copper and fiber conduit and cable systems.
